Catching up on some posts I should have made ages ago!
We had a great week of spooky fun once more :)
Last night we played a wee gig in Oporto, Leeds - Gary Stewart was nice enough to put us on as part of his great "Gaslight Club" night he runs every Monday.
It was odd to play such a stripped back set, but great fun too!
We have had a pretty lacklustre year with the veg, the tomatoes were especially disappointing...
Anyway, we harvested all the sweet peppers yesterday, and they've done OK... they're the success of the year, and are well tasty! And the leftover plants are fed to the chooks!
In order to get lots of people into the expensive shops, they put on a bit of a circus show in Victoria Quarter last night - and it seemed to work, the place was rammed! Credit crunch? What credit crunch?
Deeeeeelish. Jo found out about this one - it's a type of squash called a munchkin, with seeds/stringystuff scooped out, salt, pepper and a knob of butter inside it then microwaved for 5 minutes.
DO IT. DO IT NOW. It's like lovely butter potato-turnipy goodness.
So, egg update: We've been getting a fair few softies, and we had a couple of days where we got two eggs in a row - this morning I got up at 8-ish to let them out, and there was an egg... then went back to bed and woke up at 11, and there was another egg... then half an hour later, our third egg! YAY!
A great gig - he just came on stage, rambled for a couple of hours, then stumbled off again... fantastic stuff :)
